Middachten castle, Gelderland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/parksandlandscapes.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/234831086_172385508320889_2755450974435489172_n.jpg\" alt=\"---Netherlands--- Middachten castle, Gelderland\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During summer the rose garden of Middachten castle is&nbsp;very nice place to stay in for an hour to experience the beautiful layout of this part of the garden,&nbsp;the&nbsp;looks and smells of the&nbsp;different roses and the atmosphere itself using one of the garden banks with something to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Garden of Middachten Castle is really great to spend an afternoon, during summer and early autumn.&nbsp;You can walk for 2 \u2013 3 hours to experience the&nbsp;beautiful gardens in terms of&nbsp;looks and smells!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The amazing walk in&nbsp;the garden leads you to the lawn tennis court and the&nbsp;croquet field,&nbsp;giving&nbsp;the impression that you are&nbsp;back&nbsp;in the 18<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;or 19<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;century&nbsp;\u2026 times without a cell phone (my advice to switch it off during your stay in the castle garden).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally we ended at the&nbsp;terrace&nbsp;of the orangery&nbsp;to have&nbsp;a coffee \/ tea with some home made apple pie to recollect impressions of the garden and to share some pictures of the garden, flowers and cute ducks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;very&nbsp;nice afternoon indeed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/parksandlandscapes.org\/blog\/author\/jan_j\/\">Jan Jansen<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-parks-and-landscapes wp-block-embed-parks-and-landscapes\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"iQgfWc31C7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/parksandlandscapes.org\/blog\/netherlands-four-centuries-old-garden-of-middachten-de-tuinen-van-kasteel-middachten-gelderland\/\">&#8212;Netherlands&#8212;
