Electric network in Amsterdam
The municipality of Amsterdam together with the energy company Nuon and the network company Alliander set in operation the charging network Amsterdam Electric.
People with an electric car, motorcycle or scooter can charge and park at these places for free. The charging stations are located at various strategic locations in the city.
Amsterdam has the intention within the next two years to make available in total 200 charging stations. The aim of all these actions is to stimulate the use of electric vehicles.
It seems to have an effect because research shows that more than half of citizens of Amsterdam is considering purchasing an electric vehicle. 27% would prefer an electric scooter and 54% an electric car.
